The Selkie

You drive me to the hidden cove,
Unveil your hidden body,
Beneath your cloak,
The stars are in the water,
They are on you,
It is like I have found you here,
Curled up in the foam,
And this is your domain,
A shore: a bridge,
Your porcelain swirling in the lights,
Selkie skin dancing in the algae,
In a moment you will have to return to a home where I cannot follow,
But for a breath you gift me your form,
Me, chosen,
And we love each other,
I holding starlight in my hands,
An animal so rare she cannot be seen in daylight,
Gasping kelpie haired,
Loving you before the soon morning.
